Channel Mechanics, a leader in Channel Program Automation, delights today in announcing our latest appointment, with Mairéad Philbin taking up the position of Marketing Associate. Mairéad will be located in our EMEA Headquarters.
A native of Galway, Mairéad Philbin studied Commerce Global Experience in NUI Galway, graduating in August 2021. In addition to three years on the NUI Galway campus, this course provided her with the opportunity to complete a 6-month sales and marketing internship with the Westport Woods Hotel & Spa. Subsequently, spending a semester studying abroad.
While carrying out her internship, Mairéad gained invaluable experience in both sales and marketing, in a fast paced and customer-oriented environment. This led her to obtain great experience in customer service in a wide range of areas including social media marketing, email marketing, content creation and website re-design.
As part of her Erasmus, Mairéad travelled to Leuven in Belgium. It was here she studied at UC Leuven-Limburg, where she took part in an International Marketing week. This enabled her to study several business-related modules. However, her time in Belgium was unfortunately cut short as a result of the pandemic.
While studying Marketing in her final year, her decision to pursue a career in marketing was solidified. She completed modules in Market Research, Global Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Brand Management. Mairéad enjoyed each of her marketing modules but showed particular interest in Digital Marketing and Market Research.
This motivated her to further her marketing studies. Prolonging her time at NUI Galway, she studied a Master’s in Marketing Practice. This program covered a number of areas allowing Mairéad to further her marketing knowledge with courses on Inbound Marketing, Digital Marketing and Market Research. In addition to giving her the chance to gain hands on experience with Channel Mechanics.
Speaking about her appointment to Marketing Associate:
“I am really looking forward to kick starting my marketing career with Channel Mechanics. Along with the opportunity to work in a fast paced and ever-evolving environment. I’ve had a keen interest in marketing throughout my time at NUI Galway and this has only grown over the years and from my time spent as a Sales & Marketing intern in the hospitality sector. I am excited to broaden my experience, working in the B2B market. Not to mention working alongside the warm and welcoming team at Channel Mechanics.”
