Cancer Care West Charity Challenge 2020

Channel Mechanics

Channel Mechanics Challenge 2020!

This year Channel Mechanics has taken on a charity challenge to help raise much needed funds for Cancer Care West. And while it’s difficult during these times to come together, we are going to do our utmost!

Teaming up with ITAG, the Information Technology Association of Galway, who are celebrating their twentieth year in Galway, Channel Mechanics have committed to compete in their “20K Your Way Challenge”. As part of the challenge, our team is pledging to run/walk/cycle/swim/hike 3,000km between October 17th and November 26th 2020. By doing so, we hope to raise €2,020 for Cancer Care West. With all of the funds raised going directly to this great cancer charity.

Donate

If you would like to donate to this amazing charity or just see our progress, you can do so here. And don’t forget to check back each week to see how our team are getting on!

Donate a Day

In addition to our charity challenge, the team have decided to “Donate A Day” of holiday leave to Cancer Care West. That is to say, team members will donate a days holiday pay to Cancer Care West. That is to say, instead of taking a day’s holiday, the team member will work that day, and have their salary for the day, donated to the charity. To say thank you to staff for offering up their holiday pay, Channel Mechanics is pledging to donate an additional €200 for each employee signing up to the scheme. With cancer touching the lives of so many people in Ireland, we hope the funds we raise will provide support to people during this incredibly difficult time in their lives.
