Channel Mechanics wins entrepreneurial SCCUL award presented by Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny

“Dynamic young company” commended with award from SCCUL and endorsed by Irish Prime Minister

Channel Mechanics, the cloud-based channel enablement company recently awarded High-Potential Start-Up (HPSU) status from Enterprise Ireland, picked up the first prize of €10,000 at SCCUL Entrepreneurship Awards 2012 last week. The award was presented to Channel Mechanics by Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny in Galway on Friday evening, who said he was delighted to present the prize to such a “dynamic young company”.

Channel Mechanics was chosen out of seven category winners and Chief Technical Officer at the Company, Kenneth Fox, received the award on the evening. As a member of the team that founded the Company, Kenneth is highly experienced in channel operations, channel sales, channel marketing and channel infrastructure. Since its inception earlier this year, Channel Mechanics has been awarded funding from Enterprise Ireland and has also secured a large global telecoms customer.

“Companies like Channel Mechanics display the energy, tenacity, and ability to think and act with global ambition,” said Enda Kenny, the Prime Minister of Ireland.

The Company’s mission is to provide enterprise-class “Channel Enablement as a Service” capabilities for all vendors that use distribution channels. This allows rapid execution of sales and marketing programs, promotions or initiatives, globally or locally, through all tiers of the channel to provide customer satisfaction, brand preference and business growth without the need to invest in complex operational infrastructures.

“We’re thrilled to win this award and being handed it by Taoiseach Enda Kenny was a real privilege. It’s brilliant that the judges picked up on the impact that our “Channel Enablement as a Service” can have for those working within the channel: we believe we have pinpointed a ‘pain-point’ within the market and we have something that takes advantage of new cloud based technologies to take issues away and revolutionise the way manufacturers manage and implement channel campaigns.”

The SCCUL Entrepreneurial Awards are an initiative of SCCUL Enterprises Ltd aided by Ballybane Enterprise Centre, St. Columba’s Credit Union and Galway City Council. Now in their third year, the awards aim to encourage local entrepreneurship by identifying high potential entrepreneurs and helping them accelerate their plans.

“Channel Mechanics is a very worthy overall winner of the SCCUL Entrepreneurship Awards 2012, and we were really pleased to reward the company for its success so far”. The Company’s solutions are pioneering in the channel and it is ideas like this coupled with expertise and business acumen that are critical to business growth and creating employment for the local community and the national economy.”
